Sounds of the Rainforest Concert Tonight!

My beau and I will be heading out shortly to the UCSC Music Center Recital Hall to catch our first concert of the year — and a very unusual one at that!

The Music Department is presenting “Mentawai: Listening to the Rainforest,” an experimental multimedia work put together by Linda Burman-Hall using her video recordings of the rainforest, as well as biologist Richard Tenaza’s audio recordings & photographs of threatened and endangered species. All the sounds that will comprise this concert were recorded on Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands.

The event website shares that this multimedia concert was created to increase the fine arts audience’s awareness of environmental conservation — so in other words, it is right up my alley! <3 Sooooo... it's super late notice if this is the first you've heard about it, but the show starts at 7:30pm, so maybe just maybe you can make it too! Look for me there & say "hello!" Love, Janelle 1. Earn a free photoshoot in the Pin-up Perks Posse!
